Has anyone else had this issue with the new version of site advisor?
Just tested on a Windows 7 64 bit machine, upgrading from 3.5 failed. uninstalling 3.5 and re-installing 3.5P1 failed.
XP straight install no prior version, failed.
All i see in the event log is it trying to run a script and then getting the error 'Unable to find the specified section' then reports a success and closes the task out.
thanks,
Pierce

looks like macfee have fixed their issue. downloaded the file again today, 300kb file size difference. from what i can see the original
had no digital sig. Clients are now updating freely.
Just to add and i checked and those .McS files are in the folder, and installing the site advisor standalone works.
I am having the same issue. Logged a call to McAfee and have gotten no where.
Glad its not just me then! I tried via the software center and uploading the files directly, neither worked.
I have a platinum case open as well since yesterday but no response yet. will post back here if I get anything. Is your ePO 4.6.1 as well by any chance?
Just to add to the fun, if i send an update task for users with site advisor 3.5 it updates them to 3.5 Patch 1 without issue.
Must just be an issue in the installer package.
No, we are using 4.6.0. Did you deploy the new VirusScan also? Are you having issues with that?
I'm keeping well away from VSE for at least a month to make sure its not going to break anything. 🙂 I have learnt from my mistakes!
Just testing site advisor at the moment as its only testing in my org on less than 20 machines.
Has anyone got the popup (McAfee Agent Updater) regarding that a restart of the computer is needed to complete the update of McAfee Site Advisor?
Nope, but I have that disabled in my policy so thats to be expected in this case.
OK, what have you disabled? and in which policy?
I don't want the popup to popup, I want it to be silent if it's possible.
