    ELM Archival

    souljoy

      Hi All,

We have a standalone ELM (ELM-4600) which has  1TB storage (Local) allocated, I have found that its full now. We have configured 1 year retention period but since its full we dont have 1 year data in ELM. Could some one please provide clarity on below points.

      1. What will happen if ELM Storage Full?

      2. Is there any archival option in ELM where when ELM deletes the old event we can save it and can be enabled and look for  data (Like inactive partition in ESM)

      3. What should I do now so that I can save data for 1 year in ELM

Request your all help in getting clarity on this.

      Thanks in Advance !!

      Regards,

      Soul Joy

               First In First Out.

Extend the storage pool by adding more network-based storages into the existing storage pool and keep on archiving.

          3. What should I do now so that I can save data for 1 year in ELM

You can't, it will start purging old events and make room for new events.

Hi Thanks a lot for your information.

Could you please clarify on point 2, how can I do 'Keep on Archiving'.

            Thanks and Regards,

You can just link the ELM to some remote storage, NFS is better than CIFS for speed and less chance of data loss.
