I recently installed the DLP 9.4.2 extension into the ePO server after having installed the 9.3.6 packages and extensions and deployed 9.3 to an endpoint, in order to convert the 9.3 policy to 9.4 format.
The 9.4.2 management extension installed without issue however, when I switched to the Server Tasks, I noted that the DLP Policy Conversion task was disabled, edit and run were not listed as options even. Only the View option was available.
Clicking View gives a clue as to what the problem could be: at the bottom of the page there is a section called Validation errors and it says "This task can't be executed or edited for these reasons. The user was not authorized to run the command "DLP policy conversion from 9.3 to 9.4".
I was logged on as admin, the owner of the server task in question.
There are a couple of other DLP-related tasks which are also in the same state as the DLP Policy Conversion one, namely Detect Discovery Servers and DLP Incident Events Migration from 9.4 to 9.4.1 and above.
I have ePO v5.3.2 Build 156 installed on a Windows Server 2012 R2 VM.
Any feedback on this issue would be gratefully received.
I'm attaching a screenshot of the server tasks.
Thanks in advance guys,
the solution is:
Open in ePO Data Protection>DLP Policy Manager
You will ask for a vaild licence. Type the licence code in the field. Set the evidence UNC Path and click save.
Now you can run the DLP Policy Conversion task.
