does sound like a bit like malware, try running a full malwarebytes www.download.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html scan or prevx csi http://info.prevx.com/downloadcsi.asp
they are both free
Unfortunately I cannot download and install anything on these computers. Has anyone seen this before and can absolutely say if it's spyware?
I beleive it is PDF files being opened in the IE browser window and being then printed that causes the issue. The temp file is created in the folder, and Common Standard Protection: Prevent common programs from running files from the Temp folder rule catches it.
This is a bit annoying, since you cant really disable IExplore.exe from being scanned when launching files from the temp folder, and (to the best of my knowledge) you cant exclude that path for the Access Protection functions.
Therefore, the only option that I have come up with (bearing in mind I have reviewed this issue for about 15 minutes so far) is to disable the Acrobat Reader function to Open PDF in Browser.
