Create a client task under the system tree group to deploy the agent. Then configure the task to run randomly over a pre defined time period.
I don't see a task to deploy the agent. I want to deploy it to certain machines and not all machines at once - otherwise I would use the RSD to auto deploy.
When you say some machines do you mean for example subnet by subnet ??
If your system tree is configured per subnet
In systems, select the system tree group you wish to deploy the agent
Select Client tasks
Select New task
type a task name and select product deployment (Mcafee Agent)
Select ePO agent 4.0 from products and components
Select a schedule
The next time the epo agent for a machine in the group you just created a task for connects to the ePO server it will recieve a task to install epo agent 4.0
You can now deploy agent 4.0 per subnet or any method you choose
No - I've got a list of machines in a text file that I want to manually deploy the agent to - the machine's don't have the agent running on them so that can't check into EPO to see what tasks to run.
If you only have a txt file and you have SMS then you are laughing. Use sms to deploy.
If you don't then I suggest that you sync EPO with your AD. once the machines are in EPO you can do the method below.
