Are you able to supply some basic info regarding your mcafee infrastructure?

Can see you are running the latest VSE, if that is the case with the agent also then its not supported for XP and that is likely your issue and will need an older version specifically for the XP systems.
Restart ePO service will fix this issue as there a bug in ePO application where Run Client task was not terminated even marked for termination under ePO server task.

Now my XP systems are using Agent 5.0.3 and VSE 1528 which is the last version to support XP .
And I have about 40 XP systems , most works.
Our Win7 systems are using 5.0.4 and 1599 . One of them can not communicate with EPO ,and another one can not update DAT....
What do you mean restart ePO service ? Restart the servce PC ?
