    NT4 SP6 cma 3.6 install

      Hi Guys,

We have 1 last NT4 sp6 machine.... I am trying to do a manual install on the agent as I don't want to register it as a package with epo... (we have just moved from Trend).

Could some kind person please write out the correct format to install the 3.6 agent onto an NT4 sp6 machine? My brain has died you see..... (Actually I have been trying all afternoon with no luck) I just don't know about the "siteinfo" bit in particular....

      Thanks heaps,
      Stuart.

          • 2. One step closer
I am carrying out the install using the command-line options etc.... I tried including an instdir to resolve an error (see below) but it returns a message saying that i can use that commanline option??

Here is what I have tried...

            C:\McAfee_Agent>frminst /INSTALL=AGENT /instdir=c:\ePOAgent /SITEINFO=C:\SITELIS
T.XML but this says i can use that option...

C:\McAfee_Agent>frminst /INSTALL=AGENT /SITEINFO=C:\SITELIST.XML but this errors because it can't find a framework file.... but surely this file is part of the install???

            Slightly confused now... :(

arent you using framepkg install switches on frminst??
are you not using the framepkg.exe installer?
                • 5. Update
Okay, I realised what I was doing wrong... what I did was try to use the "Check-in" package rather than the actual agent exe...

Just out of interest, the only download available to me was the FramePkg_upg.exe file... but seemed to work fine.. Also, it seems a reboot is necessary.

                  Thanks,
                  Stuart.
