It is a separate DAT for HIPS but it is automatically downloaded by the Pulltask.
Be sure to specify it in your client update task if you use selective updating.
ahh okey. sooo the only thing I have to do is to goto
ePolicy Orchestrator Agent
Update Task and make sure I have marked the
"Host Intrusion Prevention Content"
under "Signatures and Engines"
Cool. but how can I see if the client have did get the hips dat file ? cause on my client in hips7, when I click the "about" I get these infos:
License Type: Licensed
Created On: Thursday, January 17, 2008
Product Version: 7.0.0
Build Number: 794
Security Content Version: 2051
shouldn't there be a "dat version" or something? :o
The HIPS DAT version is the "Security Content Version".
You can check the new signatures added via the McAfee Knowledgebase https://knowledge.mcafee.com/SupportSite/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&exte rnalId=615959&sliceId=SAL_Public&dialogID=33932442&stateId=1%200%2033930083
Aaahh.. silly okey so now I know where I can see the latest version on the client.. happy cool! thanks
so I have checked a few clients in our office that uses the standard hips deployment policy where the securirty "Content update" issn't marked. but steel they have recieved the newest security contents dat version. I can see that when I goto "about"
But it should only be my computer that had the latest version, because it is the only pc where I have set the mark for updating security contens. hmm.. :o
I suppose you have Global Updating enabled. This will update all active clients independent of your update tasks.
