Safeboot 5.2.3.5 upgrade to DE 7.1.3

    p.svibek

      Hi,

I need to upgrade from version Safeboot 5.2.3.5, agent 5.2.6 to DE 7.1.3

I tried migration tool, but it displays an error -> SbAdmDll.dll was not found.

      Without migration tool

      1) Installation DE 7.1.3 on laptop

      2) Later force policy -> state upgradable

      3) Afterwards is state active, i see all information about encryption in ePO server.

      4) Reboot OS, I see new logon screen DE 7.1.3 -> everythink is allright

      5) Log in and then Windows starts repair mode.

      Do you have any idea?

      Best regard,

      Pavel

You need that DLL file - It's included in the downloads in the "SafeBoot Scripting Tool" folder if I remember correctly, and should be in your SBADMIN folder as well.

As you no doubt know, all support for V5 ended a few weeks ago but  I'll try to help as much as I can.

Thank you for your help. I had to upgrade version 5.2.6

1.Stop all the Endpoint Encryption services:

a.Stop the McAfee Endpoint Encryption HTTP Server service as follows:

i.Open a command prompt and access the following folder:

              sbadmin/McAfee Endpoint Encryption Manager folder

            ii.Type the following command:

            sbhttp –stopservice

b.Stop the McAfee Endpoint Encryption Database Server as follows:

i.Start the Endpoint Encryption database server via the Windows Start menu.

ii.When prompted to stop the service, click Yes.

iii.Cancel the logon at the database selection screen.

c.Stop the McAfee Endpoint Encryption PDA server as follows:

i.Start the Endpoint Encryption PDA server via the Windows Start menu.

ii.When prompted to stop the service, click Yes.

iii.Cancel the logon at the database selection screen.

d.Stop the McAfee AD connector scheduler via the Windows Scheduler.

2.Back up the existing database. Back up the Endpoint Encryption Manager (EEM) folder and SBDATA folder, as follows:

NOTE: SBDATA is normally a sub-folder under EEM, and contains the actual database data.

a.Launch Windows Explorer and navigate to the following folder (default specified):

            ...\Program Files\McAfee\Endpoint Encryption Manager

b.Right-click Endpoint Encryption Manager, select Copy, and then paste the entire contents to another drive or temporary folder.

And please run the setup file of 5.2.6  to upgrade to 5.2.6.

Then I could use migration tool without problem
