    FrmInst.exe resides in a new directory after installing Agent 5.0.3

    xenon1

      On 64bit Windows System the FrmInst.exe, wich we are using for setting several Customprops1-4

      changed to the \common framework\x86\ - Directory.

      That ist nearly a showstopper, cause we have to upgrade all own Installation-Routines in VSE,HIPS,EEPC...

      Further Notice:

      ! - "msaconfig.exe" is gone, an changed to a new Syntax with "maconfig.exe"

      Damn that incompaibility to Agent 4.8.

      Does anyone have any good Idea?

          use a script that detects the version of the agent, queries the location of the files in the registry. Once you have that you can set custom 1-4 with the right syntax.

          The key  code that you need, you can build around that.

          '--------------------------------------

          'Determine McAfee agent major version

          '--------------------------------------

          Function AgentMajorVer

          strKeyPath = "SOFTWARE\Network Associates\ePolicy Orchestrator\Agent\CustomProps"

          objReg.GetStringValue HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, "SOFTWARE\Network Associates\TVD\Shared Components\Framework\", "Version", strValue

          AgentMajorVer = CINT(left(strValue,1))

          End Function

          sub MA5x
          objReg.GetStringValue HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, "SOFTWARE\McAfee\Agent", "InstallRoot", strValue

          strExecName = chr(34) & strValue & "maconfig.exe" & chr(34)
          strExecParams = " -custom " & "-prop1 " & chr(34) & strCompany & chr(34) & " -prop2 " & chr(34) & strModel & chr(34) & " -prop3 " & chr(34) & strSerial & chr(34) & " -prop4 " & chr(34) & strBootTime & chr(34)

          Set objShell = WScript.CreateObject( "WScript.Shell" )

          objShell.run(strExecName&strExecParams),0,true
          end sub
