This is a good first step, and works in the vast majority of cases, but there doesn't exist a manual removal guide for Agent 5.0 that I've been able to find. I hope one is released soon; I have a number of systems that I need to perform manual removal on, but am unable to do so, so the installed broken Agent remains.
you can use command line to uninstall agent
the commands age as follows
cd program files (OR) program files(*86) \mcafee\common frame work click enter after that frame ins.msi /forceuninstall
click enter it will uninstall the agent
hope it will usefull
Well...that was exactly my point. I do use the command line uninstall, and it works in the majority of cases, but there's still no documented process for the 5.x Agent to perform a full manual uninstall (i.e. removing services, registry keys, files, etc.).
Right. The KB for 4.X lists all the files folders and keys that need removed. If you were to do this on a 5.X agent, there is no written procedure for this. We currently have a corrupted 5.X agent that was removed, but a new agent installation fails. Part of me thinks there are residual files possibly preventing this.
