Did you remove your McAfee Software before installing Windows 10, and follow up with the McAfee (MCPR) Tool. Are you current and up to date with all of your Windows Updates,to include Internet Explorer? Make certain all of your add-ons/extensions are current as well. Especially your Adobe Flash Player.
Make certain there is not any other Security Software installed also.
Here are Guidelines/Instructions on how to uninstall/reinstall:
You can contact Technical Support Via Online Chat/Phone and it is (Free) https://service.mcafee.com.webcenter/portal/cp/home/contact
Reinstall I feel the best path as described above but.......
I would also make certain there is no Malware onboard. I suggest you Run the Latest McAfee Stinger (Read how to use)
and follow up with Malwarebytes (Free) for a second opinion. To keep it (Free) follow the instructions listed just before you
You can obtain these Free Tools here :Anti-Spyware/Malware & Hijacker Tools
Is the Windows 10 a normal licensed one or perhaps one of the Developer Builds? If the latter that message would probably be normal.
Also what is the source of the McAfee software? If it's an old retail copy that maybe what's causing it too.
Technical Support could help perhaps as previously suggested.
Thanks everybody for the responses
My Machine was windows 8.1 & upgraded to windows 10 Automatically by Microsoft. All are updated.
No malware on board- ( checked by malwarebytes)
The source of McAfee software CD is a retail here in Dubai. It is mentioned on the CD cover that it supports windows 10 ! however ..I'm still getting the above erroe
I hate to call technical support in general .. but it seems that this is the only way now
Hopefully They can resolve your issues. If you feel the need, you can also escalate your issue to a 'Higher Tier' Technician, Simply furnish your Service Request #.
All the Best,
Probably a complete uninstall is in order via Control Panel > Programs and Features
Run the MCPR cleanup tool and reboot.
Reinstall NOT from your CD but from the online account which must have been created when you first activated the product.
Check the region at the top of the page and then click "My Account" and log in using your email address that was used originally plus your password (if not known, there's a lost password link there)...HERE
FYI McAfee software is NOT compatible with any "Developer Builds" from Microsoft, only the versions of Windows publicly available.
