Ever since we updated McAfee ViruScan to 220.127.116.118, we have been having issues with printing external sites from IE. I believe we have narrowed it down to the Access Protection Rule "Prevent common programs from running files from the Temp folder":
|4/27/2016||11:04:28 AM||Blocked by Access Protection rule||CORPSRV\xyz||C:\PROGRAM FILES (X86)\INTERNET EXPLORER\IEXPLORE.EXE||C:\Users\xyz\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\Low\Content.IE5\ITY6XVEY\rs=ACT90oGrM73PfKo-s2CFsalXgdvDkwa8eg.js||Common Standard Protection:Prevent common programs from running files from the Temp folder||Action blocked : Read|
This has not been a problem before we updated VS and we have made no changes to the policy but go by the DISA STIG. If we disable this function printing works without issues.
Is this behavior intentional or a bug? If it is intentional, why wasn't it a problem before patch 7 (or at least patch 5 - we moved directly from patch 4 to patch 7 when this problem occurred)?
Anyone else seeing this? If so, have you found a solution which does not entail going against STIG policy?
