BUT beware it possibly not being silent anymore with this option and showing a reboot prompt as per the 8.5 readme:
5. When silently over-installing the Computer
Associates eTrust Antivirus program, the action
is not completely silent. The Computer
Associates eTrust Antivirus program displays a
message box stating that a restart is needed
with an "OK" button. Once you click "OK", the
over-installation continues normally. This
problem is a known Computer Associates problem
referenced on the Computer Associates' web site
under article QO19636. The web site provides a
downloadable file that fixes this problem. The
problem references Computer Associates eTrust
Antivirus version 6.0, but the fix also works
for version 7.0.

Looking at the technical document at CA, this is a 2002 patch.
On this other document, the patch seems to be included in the SP1 version of CA Etrust 6.0.
But there is no reference to this patch with the 7 version of Etrust. Which is the version I'm concerned in :D
