I had the same problem. I was only able to login with the admin user via ssh and putty. After login with the admin user i was abel to use a sudo su command to login with the root user. Everything was fine.
Thank you for getting back to me so soon.
can you tell me how to use the sudo command to login to putty, i am new to the linux environment im afraid, as you can see i am logging on as ROOT as the username, and the password.
Also, what command can i use to access the logs, is there a GUI for reading the logs????.
Thanks in advancce
Just type after a successfull Login with the admin User : sudo su and enter the root password
There is no GUI for the Logs. You can find the logs under /var/log/Mcafee.
Is there any command which would print out the log files to a txt file??????
I forgot to say i have got TIE installed on a VM
You can output command result to text file using below command
$command > filename
$date > Output.txt
> is used for putting resulting logs to the specified file.
Thank you for getting back to me.
So am i correct in thinking that if i wonted to put the dxlbroker.log into $command > filename, i would write it as dxlbroker.log > dxlbroker.txt?
dxlbroker.log > dxlbroker.txt this won't work
1 > 2
first part should be standard command, the resulting command stores the outcome of the command to the specified file,
$date > Output.txt in this $date is stand command and the result is stored inside the output.txt, if you open the text file you should be able to see date.
Did you restart ssh service after modify the ssh_config?
