Have they been restarted?
What does the install logs for VSE say in c:\windows\temp\mcafeelogs
Have you installed VSE previously on this machine and you are just updating it?
Either way, run a removal VSE task against the machine and then an install VSE task.
If that fails and you have installed it before, you may wish to check the registry as it may contain leftover entries for VSE and therefore think its installed already.
Or - make sure you do have the install task assigned correctly (ie, if you update the VSE client, you need to reselect the VSE version to install as it disappears from the drop down in the Task Catalog)
I want to install the Virusscan as they are with the agent installed EPO.
Ran a removal task and installation Viruscan 8.8.0, but they were not installed.
What entriga me that they are only 400 machines in a world of 6000.
If I run SETUPVSE locally in your work properly.
You can check if you have the setup package built into the master repository
What happens if you forceuninstall the agent and reinstall the agent - does VSE install then?
framepkg.exe /forceuninstall /silent
framepkg.exe /install=agent /forceinstall /silent
You can omit the /silent part if running on the machine itself, I use the above when accessing remotely with PSEXEC on the command line.
I have seen where the agent has a problem and says it installs it, its generally over in 5 seconds where it says successful but doesnt do anything.
So try the above
I run example:
psexec \\hostname c:\\temp\FRAMEPKG /INSTALL=AGENT /silent /SITEINFO=C:\TMP\SITELIST.XML ??
I have the same type of issue, we decided to roll back the problematic machines to agent 4.8. The agent was communication with agent 5.0.2 but the tasks were not running: no deployments, no scans, etc.
Called it in to McAfee, no real fix other than avoid agent 5.x until agent 5.0.3 is released.
