VSE Repository Update From ePO Server

    deem114

      Hello all,

I have two VMs on the same machine running Windows Server 2008 R2, networked together (no domain). One machine has McAfee VSE 8.8, and the other machine has ePO 5.1.1.

I am looking for a way to use the ePO server to fetch the VSE updates from the McAfee repositories. From there, I would like to add the ePO machine as a repository through VSE, perhaps using HTTP.

I do not want the ePO machine to manage the VSE machine, and I do not want the VSE machine to connect directly to McAfee's online update repository.

If anyone can give me some insight on how to set this up, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

UPDATE: I set up an IIS server role (http) on the ePO VM, with a virtual directory of the path C:\Program Files (x86)\McAfee\ePolicy Orchestrator\DB\Software\Current.

Since the VM with VSE is unmanaged, I copied the RepoKeys.ini file from a temporary managed VM with VSE and pasted it onto the unmanaged VM. This should allow VSE to "verify" the master repository as safe.

It seems VSE is able to connect to the repository over http, and begin downloading and verifying files, but it looks like it has trouble obtaining some of the files during the AutoUpdate task.

          Any ideas?
