Can someone use my e-mail without me knowing it?

I think someone is using my e-mail without my knowledge.  How can they do that and how do I stop it.

Well, the first thing I would do is Change your Password, immediately. Make the password something complex.

Second, Turn off saving or auto entering the password when starting your email client. Get used to entering that complex password each time.

          Third, Change your password periodically.

          Good luck

Is this related to the McAfee SIEM product, or a general question?

If it's general, you should know that it's easy to fake the "from" address in an email - in the same way it's possible to send someone a physical letter purporting to be from someone else.

And, like a letter, there's nothing you can do to stop it. Looking deeper at the email, it's fairly obvious when it's fake (headers, route through the internet etc) but on first glance there's no way to tell.
