Safeboot Device Encryption causing excess drive access on start up

On my lap top which is running Safeboot Device Encryption 5.2.11, I am seeing excess drive activity that lasts for about 1.5 hours after booting up in the morning.  The computer is running Windows 7 32 bit with 4 GB of RAM installed and a Core I& processor.  The excess activity can be observed by the hard drive access light staying on steady for the entire period and Task Manager showing high I?O read bytes for SbLientManager.exe.  What could be causing this excess activity?
