McAfee agent files location + EPO upgrade

    bostjanc

      Hi guys.

      Two questions.

      QUESTION1:

We have checked in McAfee Agent 4.8 and 5.0. Where are those installation files (for 4.8 and 5.0 seperately) stored on filesystem on EPO server?

      QUESTION2:

Currently we are on EPO 5.1.1 (build: 357). I see in Software manager that there is possiblity to check in EPO 5.3 version.

Is it wise to upgrade it? What are the benefits from this two versions?

      Upgrading it is next/next procedure?

          Hi bostjanc

          Question 1:

All the Master Repository files reside on the disk for all three branches and can be found in <epoinstallfolder>/DB/Software/<branch>/<softwareID>. For example VSE  in the Current would be found in <epoinstallfolder>/DB/Software/Current/VIRUSSCAN8000

          Question 2:

You can run the new Pre-installation/upgrade check tool to determine if your system is ready for an upgarde. Details for the new tool are available here.

I would recommend you upgrade to 5.1.3 which was released in June 2015.

The ePO support strategy can be reviewed here and other are asking the same question on this thread.

patches.pngOn EPO download site there is only release date from MAY 2015. Where can we get "the JUNE version" you are mentioning it?

Hi guys. One more thing. Durring the upgrade we recieve this error (see it bellow):

How can we UNINSTALL those things. We did not find them thru EPO console / SOFTWARE MANAGER...

                    Hi bostjanc

These are all management extensions. You have two options for these extensions:

                    1. Uninstall extensions for product you do not use Menu > Software >Extensions, select the extension in the left cloumn, select 'Remove' far right
                    2. Upgrade the Extension for prodcuts you do use. Go to your Grant download page, find the product and download the updated ePO Extension (zip file) and use the install Extension option (bottom left) of the Menu > Software > Extensions page in ePO.

                    Regards
