Security Scan Plus is not a security application but rather a sales tool to advise you what security applications you may need.
It installs as a free option with such things as Adobe Flash, Shockwave or Reader, uTorrent and many others.
I would uninstall it if I were you - it will be listed in your Control Panel > Programs and Features.
Hopefully you have some proper security software installed anyway to protect your device.
BTW I moved this to Consumer > General Discussions as a more appropriate spot for it.
If your regular security software isn't functioning after a system upgrade, I would uninstall it, clean-up, reboot and reinstall from the online account.
That's outlined in THIS FAQ

Thanks, I can't believe I am that stupid.
My regular MacAfee disappeared and I was confused.
We all have our duh moments.....! ;-)
BTW, if you've got problems with your regular software, which often happens with upgrades/downgrades, uninstall all of it in the usual way, run the clean-up tool, reboot and reinstall from your online account.
