Prescan is like an EPO managed version of stinger that you can use on machines which have VSE installed on but which are unable to clean a virus off due to locked files etc. You manage the settings via EPO and PreScan operates in the native mode of Microsoft Windows. It runs immediately after reboot, whenWin32subsystem, NT services and user interfaces are not loaded.
Not a replacement for VSE and will only work on machines that have VSE installed, a compliment to the actual VSE software that you can use in case of problems with normal cleaning
This comparison between prescan and cleanboot gives you a good idea of what its capable of:

Can we Add the prescan in the Epo 4.0?
EPO 4.0 isnt in the supported EPO list in prescan documents (but then they also tell you to install a reporting NAP that doesnt exist so the documentation isnt wonderfull)
I have checked the knowledgebases but I havnt found anything to suggest its compatible and its not in the list of compatible programs on epo 4.0.
you could always log a support call to ask, they may have something else in the pipeline or a date when prescan will be rewritten to include epo 4.0
