The Cloud has it's own protection I would hope as it's remote from your computer. The software protects the machine it's installed on and anything attached to that machine.
You can add phones, tablets etc. from the online account once established, protection on them is slightly different from on a PC and varies with model. Best speak with Customer Service regarding licensing matters, it's a free phone call: Services and Support for Home and Office
Change country at top right if necessary.
