We have just started to test McAfee Anti-Malware 2.3 on one of our Macs (Yosemite) and after performing an 'on-demand' scan several files were listed in the event history as not scanned. I understand why encrypted files will not be scanned but there were also many files that were saying 'locked' or 'special'. I assume that files listed as locked were not scanned because they were in use, is it normal for McAfee AV scans to skip files that are in use? Also what is meant by 'special' file when performing an on-demand scan on a Mac?
Any help on these points would be greatly appreciated.
