Moved this to Consumer > General.
Reboot, try running the Virtual Technician http://mvt.mcafee.com/ and see if that finds and fixes problems.
I suggest uninstalling via Control Panel > Programs Features/
Reboot if it asks.
Run the MCPR cleanup tool and reboot immeditately it asks you to.
Reinstall from your online account.

I forgot to mention that I tried to install the virtual technician several times and each time I got the message "McAfee Virtual Technician installation failed. Please try again." How is that possible? Is it incompatible with Windows 10?
I will try your suggestion about uninstalling and reinstalling. I hope it works.
Possibly because the software was in a state of activity. The uninstall/reinstall should fix everything.
