I can understand your frustration, however there is a Fix to this issue. We as Moderators experience the same. Having said this, our Security/Protection has yet to be compromised. The Fix to this issue is close to hand.
As CD says For your info I am running the fix for past 3 weeks in the beta software users group and it works fine The patch is just around the corner we are though not allowed to release the actual date as yet.
So here we are Oct 1st 2015 and still the software fails to work correctly, this has now been 2 months with constant issues with the spinning wheel, updates failing etc etc. I don't think you lot have a clue whats wrong, you sell virus protection yet your software doesn't acutally work, what a joke!
Also there is a Work-Around to obtain your Daily Engine Versions. Due to the Hundreds/Thousands of posts we Moderators handle. I am uncertain if you have been made aware of the fact.
Until the Patch/Fix indeed arrives.
1- Open your McAfee Security Center
2- Click on Navigation
3- Click on General Settings and Alerts
4- Expand Access Protection and uncheck/disable/apply
5- Check for updates, After Updates are completed, Follow steps 1-4 again and Place a Check/enable Access Protection/apply.
