Being that we Moderators (On the Consumer Side of the Equation) do not run any Mac Products, and not familiar with the McAfee Product for Mac. I can contact a Enterprise Moderator to add to the discussion.
During the Interim, you may try running McAfee Getsusp (Add your Email Address under 'Preferences') before scanning. Follow up by running the Latest McAfee Stinger. Both of these Superb Free Programs can be obtained here: Anti-Spyware/Malware & Hijacker Tools

Thank you Cat Daddy, I will try doing as you suggest. However, presuming the software is similar for both Macs and PC's - can you tell me how to ensure threats are cleaned or quarantined from within the program? I do not think my issue is specific to it running on my Mac. Peter, thank you for moving my question to the appropriate area.
I would think the programs I suggested to run, will be compatible with Mac Products.
As for the other concerns , please be informed that I have contacted a Moderator whom is most experienced in Mac Products. As his Geographical location is in the U.K, will determine when he adds to the discussion.

I Would assume by your previous comments, you have contacted Technical Support? I agree that any detections that have been quarantined by your Paid subscription, should be available to view. And in addition be removed without incurred expenses.
You could possibly contact Technical Support again, and ask for it to be escalated to a 'Higher Tier Technician' Again, hopefully soon the Moderator will pick up this thread and add his expertize to the issue.
