There is a bug which is hopefully being fixed soon.
Thank you for the quick reply and answer
The beta testers will I believe get the fix first and then eventually the customer base. No dates yet though, sorry.
I'm having the same problem though without the virus scan. Checking for updates very frequently, slowing my computer way down and royally ******* me off. Very frustrating.
The bug is the checking for updates icon displays all the time if you then check ie open it you either get updated or more likely the message says you are up to date. Then no icon show for a while and then you repeat. The fix is working well in the beta testers group and should be released hopefully this month after QA testing
My worry is I had not seen it cause slow downs
Can you post the McAfee version and build number from the about link bottom right of the interface.
McAfee Anti-Virus and Anti-Spyware
McAfee Personal Firewall
As I said the blue update icon issue does not as far as all my PCs , the family PCs or posts here cause slow downs as far as I have noticed. Maybe as a first test try running MVT the Virtual Technician and see if it says anything.
I assume you have not installed another scanner ie a real time scanning version of say malwarebytes around this time and things are clashing?
No, McAfee is the only scanning software installed. I tried installing MVT but installation failed.
Hi kurlis, have you tried right click and "run as administrator"? (on MVT)
