Can you access the agents http port and check what they are doing if you wake the agent up, also check and post the relevant section of the agent log
Ok, it's been a while since I've had to check anything like this, can you refresh my memory?
open an ie window and use http://%hostname%:agent to server wakeup port to see the current state of the machine
Agent log on an affected machine from here:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\McAfee\Common Framework\Db
I always get page can not be displayed in IE when I try to check machines like that. Dunno if it's because of the proxy settings or what....
what about the logs
How much of the log should I paste up?? There's quite a lot to it!
Also, I thought I had sorted the issue on Friday. I reinstalled some of the agents and set the update to run as a missed task which cured most machines. However after putting it back to a run immediately task and checking it this morning, it seems i have the same issue.
I am also interested as to why the update task should be set to run immediately and not to run daily?
post the bit that relates to the dat update.
Hopefully this is what you are after:

Worth noting however, is that Friday (23rd) is when I was playing around with the update task so I don't know if this will affect what the log displays above or not....
Personally I use both an after logon and a daily update task with another immediate one I keep on standby. Make sure to tweak the times so that after logon give s agood 20 minutes for everything else to finish before it kicks in and that if you are running deployment at every policy interval this is not conflicting as this will kill the update if it does, try switching off the deployment task to test this.
