What do you mean by the McAfee Client? VirusScan 7.1 or 8.0?
Then yes. You need to import the package into ePO under the repository. Install both the package.z file and the included NAP files (usually two - one for the product and one for reports).
Then you will have a deployment task you can use to install VirusScan.
I'm working with a fresh install of ePO and have checked in the virus scan package and created a client task to install immediately but only the agent installs, not the virus scan.
EPO 3.5 is no longer supported. You should be evaluating EPO4 as 3.6.1 expires mid 2009
Your answer is in response to the original post from 2004 hence the reason he was using 3.5. My issues are with 4.0 and VirusScan 8.7
You should try creating a new thread of your own to avoid this type of confusion. As for why you are having problems, have you made sure things are setup to run a missed task etc.?
