In production beyond few small engines, separate log server is recommended.
SMC performance is better on Linux, so for production, that is the more recommended platform.
I would like to know why the separation is recommended.
That is the impact for Memory, CPU, or HDD I/O?
Is there any differences about performance between A or B?
A: All server is installed to a single machine, but the machine spec is very higher than the hardware guide.
B: Each server is installed to separated machine. but each machine spec is normal. (Same as hardware guide)
Management and log server requirements are quite different as such. For log server especially HDD I/O and CPU are relevant. On management server HDD I/O is not relevant, but memory is.
Typically the need for second server comes more from extensive logging ie. one server is not enough to handle all logs received and second server is needed as log server.
