You had posted in Business > VirusScan Enterprise but your profile states you use Consumer software so have moved this to Consumer > General Discussion.
As you don't mention any details of system or software versions I;m assuming Windows 8 or 8.1 as you mentioned Apps.
Have you tried initiating System Restore to go back to before this happened? Tutorial here: System Restore - How to Do in Windows 8
As far as why this is happening, I'm not sure, but it sounds like something is up with "Hot Corners", but I couldn't say that's it.
You might want to run some extra software to check for spyware.
