    Endpoint encryption on a flash drive


      I had to encrypt an 8-GB flash drive with MfeEERM to plug it legally into a company computer. I used the flash drive normally for some weeks and last time, it contained 5 folders with subfolders.

      Now I can’t access the files. Instead of the McAfee dialog box asking for password, it displays the warning “You have inserted an unprotected device into the computer. Do you want to encrypt this device?

      When I answer NO (I understand that encrypting it again would erase the old files), the 5 main folders are listed with a blank document icon and 4 KB size each, but I know the old files were not deleted because under Properties of the drive it lists 3.11 GB used space.

      What can I do to recover my data? Thanks for your help.
