    EPO reports DAT Version Blank

    thulanitshaka

      Hi guys,

below is the summary of DAT deployment

      VSE total connecting.PNG

My Problem is that on the DAT version i have 280 devices show blank, and some are far behind, from the latest DAT version but my concern is the one that show blank yet when you view the workstation physically it shows you that it's up to date with current DAT version.

in my troubleshooting process i tried to delete  AgentGUID from registry so that i can restart McAfee Framework Service after i have done that, but now issue is that, i can not delete the AgentGUID i get the followimg error " Unable to detele all specified values"  and secondly McAfee service are greyed out i cannot restart the services, can i please get some assistance with below issue.

      Much Appreciated

          Hi thulanitshaka

Lets take these one at a time.

Do the endpoints report no DAT version actually have VSE installed? You can filter the Pie Chat in step four using the "Installed Products" attribute for contains Virusscan for example. Without knowing the details of the filter we would be guessing here, but if the system page for the endpoint shows no information for DAT version I would suggest it doesnt have one installed, or a product that needs one.

Not being able to restart the McAfee Framework service - this is most likely due to the VirusScan Access pRotect Policy which has the "Prevent McAfee Services from being Stopped" enabled.

            Hi Richy,

            Much appreciated for the reply

all the endpoint have VSE 8.8 installed on them some have 8.7,

"system page for the endpoint shows no information for DAT version I would suggest it doesnt have one installed, or a product that needs one" i also thought this mite be the case, i  re-installed to make product was correctly installed and am still getting the same blank on system tree.

            Regards

            Tulani.

In my case, I use Super DAT at client site (download and install Super DAT), and then at the client site do collect and send props from McAfee Agent Status Monitor, or user wake up agent at ePO console for that specific client, remember to chose "Retrieve all properties even if they haven't changed since the last time they were collected. If unchecked only retrieve changed properties". The DAT version will be fill-up then.

Note: before apply Super DAT make sure you have the right Scan Engine, New DAT will not apply to the system with absolute Scan Engine.

                      Hi Thulanitshaka,

I see you install the engine for both 32-bit and 64-bit, actually you only need one engine, if you install on the 32-bit O/S then use the 32-bit engine, if you use 64-bit O/S then you can chose to install only the 32-bit or 64-bit depend on the VirusScan Enterprise that you install on that O/S.

can you please check it on the about page at VirusScan enterprise

                      Pic.1

My recomendation is don't mix and mach, if you install 32-bit agent dan user 32-bit for all other product, also user 64-bit for all product if you user 64-bit engine.

                      Regards,
