This is probably due to the fact that the software needs to "call home" at regular intervals to make sure it's updated and in that mode all Apps are prevented from doing so..
I'm not familiar with that phone or Stamina Mode but I see online that it may be possible to allow McAfee through as per How Sony’s Battery STAMINA Mode works – Developer World
If that doesn't help I suggest you call Mobile Technical Support to see if they can help. Link below.

Thanks. I added McAfee Security App to the list "Apps active in Standby" on the Stamina mode page on my phone. I will see if this takes care of the problem.

Thanks, I did contact Techical support, and the person there suggested I update the Mcafee app, which I did. So I'll see how it goes. Hopefully, stamina mode will start working again normally.
