I moved this to ePO for faster response.
I don't think there is a file size limitation to what McAfee VSE scans and this also depends on if you talking about ODS or OAS. It's more a matter of how your policies are set and what you are scanning.
Things to take a look at:
What is your maximum scan time setting for OAS?
Are you scanning inside archived files?
Are you scanning on network drives?
Those are a couple things to take a look at, but it should not any problem scanning a 1 GB file.
Thanks for your answer.
The version our company used is VirusScan Enterprise 8.7i (126.96.36.1990).
The maximum scan time in our company is 45s.
We don't scan inside archived files.
We don't scan on network drives.
So can we make sure that McAfee VSE will scanning a 1GB file perfectly?
If you have OAS timeout set to 45sec it will not scan the file the OAS, but in ODS McAfee does not have timeout so it will scan that file if you set an ODS.
2Gb is the max for an individual file aside from any timeout configurations that may exist.
Also, moving to VSE group.
I know this has had an excellent response from the ePO experts, but it's not really about ePO or the Agent. VirusScan is more appropriate.
