With default tester configuration, if any interface configured with CVI is down on a node, that node is automatically put offline. Remaining nodes will handle traffic.
If only online node has a certain interface down, no traffic can be sent/received by cluster to/from that interface by the cluster.
Thanks for your information. Whatif the line between switch and the CVI is down? Can the Firewall track that? Because if the line is down, the interface's status still remains up.
Thanks and Regards!
Link status test checks the status of the link so it requires link to go down. As an additional test you can configure Multiping test:
So in Cluster, we have to mannually configure the Tracking to force a Node offline if a ping test is failed, don't we? In case that port is down, Node is automatically offline, right?
Yes. Multiping tests are mandatory for reliable cluster operation. They cannot be configured beforehand as hosts that are reachable by each interface are not known by anyone but the end administrator. Action should be "offline" to put node offline automatically.
Thanks for your information.
