    root permissions

    ztamas

      Dear All,

      Is it supported to create new users with root permissions in the WebGateway linux OS?

      We have a company policy that enforces the usage of named users (like zoltan) in every system instead of general users (like root).

      Thanks,

      Zoltan

          Sure you can define your normal user manually and give them rights in the adminstrator group. (it's linux :-))

          You can also configure user authentication based on LDAP or AD

          (I know this is normally not supported, but you can install the necessary packets using YUM)

          Requirement:

          • AD Server/Ip Hostname
          • AD User with password that does not expire. The Uer must have the rights to gather all user data.
          • Proxy MWG Version >= 7.2
          • PAM and LDAP modules
            openldap-clients-2.4.23-27.mlos2.x86_64
            nss_ldap-265-10.mlos2.mwg.x86_64
            pam_ldap-185-12.mlos2.x86_64

            It would be great is MWG supported SSSD, which is not in the repo. We are using FreeIPA for user authentication to our Linux boxes, and I'm going to have to set the MWG's up differently as they do not support SSSD
