    why is script error coming up on firefox

    jmacgrat

      Internet is running slow when having a number of websites open. Happens for both IE and Firefox but I am mainly in Firefox

      Examples of errors are shown below. Any ideas what is causing this or changes I should make.

      Script: resource://gre/modules/addons/XPIProvider.jsm -> jar:file:///C:/ProgramData/McAfee%20Security%20Scan/Extensions/%7Be4f94d1e-2f53 -401e-8885-681602c0ddd8%7D.xpi!/bootstrap.js -> resource://gre/modules/commonjs/toolkit/loader.js -> resource://gre/modules/commonjs/sdk/loader/sandbox.js -> resource://skype_ff_extension-at-jetpack/skype_ff_extension/data/mutation-summa ry.js:431

          Hi jmacgrat

          I would suggest trying the below steps

          A) Re-Register JScript Dlls

                       To manually register the scripting components on your computer, use one of the following sets of steps,

                       If you are running a 32-bit version of the Windows operating system
          1. Click Start, click Run, type cmd, and then click OK.
          2. Type regsvr32 %systemroot%\system32\vbscript.dll, and then press ENTER.
          3. Type regsvr32 %systemroot%\system32\jscript.dll, and then press ENTER.
                        If You are running a 64-bit version of the Windows operating system,
          1. Click Start, click Run, type cmd, and then click OK.
          2. Type %systemroot%\system32\regsvr32 %systemroot%\system32\vbscript.dll, and then press ENTER.
          3. Type %systemroot%\system32\regsvr32 %systemroot%\system32\jscript.dll, and then press ENTER.

          B) Disabling Skype Add-on/Extension.

            You've got McAfee's Security Scan Plus running - or at least present - on your system. If you have any other McAfee product you don't need Security Scan Plus. That little program will keep checking your browser history, but shouldn't slow you down; however, it might be interacting with something else. Best to uninstall it and see if makes a difference.
