Looks like a failing connection to your Database to me...
Have a check in this file:
[Install Dir EPO]\ePO\Server\conf\orion\db.properties
if you make changes in this file someway because of failing credentials to your DB I would strongly suggest you save the original somewhere as .old or something
Next to that IF you happen to get in via this trick do alter the right credentials ALSO in your Server Settings in ePO!
but by the looks somethings wrong on how you connect to your DB or the availability of your DB.
Have a check on that first
Above mentioned by me is a dirty trick and last resort. (hence the db.user password is encrypted too If you want to mess with that I'd rather advice you to contact McAfee Support or do a recovery of the snapshot in the DB with the installer (ePO 5+).
Can any one tell what might be the cause for this ePO console error, will the restarting of this services create any problem??
My ePO was running fine, only after restarting the service this problem arsed. .
Try ePO\core\config-auth and test the SQL connection. Once test completed save the settings and restart ePO service it will fix the issue.
Well, it looks like your database settings are messed up. A simple restart will not work. Connect via remote desktop to your ePO server, that start IE and connect to https://localhost:8443/core/config,enter your database settings and test and save your SQL settings. After that, restart your ePO services or the whole system.
Thanks Frank it helped me too on this issue.
Will the Database problem prevent the services(McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator Server, McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator Event Parser, McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator Application Server) from starting?
Can you tell me reasons for the services not getting started
What error are you getting?
