I am afraid you need to do manually in the local machine or install the mcafee agent in the machines with local task and remove and reinstall vse from epo
Not so good .... i have 14 000 computers ;-)
reinstall VSE can be the B plan.
I am thinking about pushing a MID file on VSE before installing the ePO agent ......
I was thinking about this a bit further 14000 Machines are a lots ehehehehe
You could test in a Machine to disable for a minute AP (acess protection) and try to remove the following task under this registry key:
If you empty this reg key you will delete all the default taska and in the next communication with ePO will copy back the ones from ePO.
if this Works, may be you can send the reg change via GPO (group policy)
Please, let me know the result of the test.
Yes it seems to works .
I have unchecked only "Prevent modification of McAfee Scan Engine" rule --> can't suppress the registry
I have unchecked the three "Prevent modification of McAfee ..." rules ---> the registry key can be suppressed.
On the VSE console, F5 ( refresh ) , and tasks desappeared .
I think that is a good way . I will now test directly with ZENworks (Our Configuration Management ) .
Excluding from those rules the process of ZENworks who manage installations and registry. ( I think it's better than desabling the AP )
Modifying the registry after the installation of ePO agent with the CM.
Could be fine .
can't do all the test still next week - so i will give feed back in a couple of days.
Hmmm it sounds great
We are getting there almost there...
Please, anything you need, let me know
Moved to ePO for better handling.
@Ex_Brit, this should remain under VSE as this is a VSE issue and not ePO issue.
Moved. It wasn't in VSE to start with - just Business.
