Why are you using EETech? - the error means the pre-boot is not active on the machine.
Maybe it's been erased by someone flushing the MBR etc? Start by telling us what the problem you are trying to resolve is.
If the machine is unbootable because the MBR is damaged, you need to force decrypt the correct sector range after verifying you do indeed have the correct key. You can't use the automatic remove feature if the pre-boot is missing.
I got the same issue with Santosh,
When user boot up his computer, the pc tell him:
McAfee Endpoint Encryption
Fatal Error: [0xEE020006] Getting disk info
I get the decrypt key from my colleague then I try to remove EE from mcafee eetech and I get this error message:
Endpoint Encryption is not currently active.
I'm a IT guy(DeskSide)
Can I restore a MBR from other encrypted pc to resolve this issue?
I found your previous thread EEPC 6.1.2 - error EE120000 - Endpoint Encryption is not currently active.
And I'm not clear what's this meen "Use the partition information for the sector ranges,"
can you please help me ?
Thanks a lot!
No . That won't do anything useful. You need to either eboot or force decrypt. The disk information screen will give you the partition sector ranges - just be sure you are working on the correct disk, and only decrypt what is encrypted ( you can verify using the workspace)
OK, thanks for your reply.
for example Disk Partitions:
partition count: 1
partition 0 type: .......
partition 0 start sector:63
partition 0 sector count: 312575697
I click force crypt sectors button then enter the
start sector :63
Number of sectors: 312575697
then decrypt right?
