Google talk / Chrome bug - crushing requests to google talk - fyi

    Regis

I'm not sure I've seen anyone mention this, but for the past couple of weeks, in an environment that blocks chat,  and includes a lot of Chrome users,  we were seeing  workstations sending thousands of denied requests to google talk server  servermtalk.google.com  on port 5228 every minute and contributing to sluggishproxy performance.

The Rx is to update to the latest Chrome AND have the workstations affected reboot, or manually kill the background chrome process.

The root cause of this appears to be a documented bug in the prior version of Chrome that apparently doesn’t not getcleared without a workstation reboot.

      Hope this helps someone...
