Hello Mark and welcome,
If you're looking for another opinion, you could try some of the scanners below.
Microsoft's Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool and McAfee's Stinger will both detect and remove Conficker.
Instructions and download links available in this article HERE.
EDIT: Stinger for W32/Conficker version 10.0.1.537 posted 03/31/2009 - 1:00am CST. Detects and removes all known W32/Conficker variants to date.
Other Tools that can detect and remove Conficker:
F-Secure's Easy Clean.
Sophos' Conficker clean-up tool (standalone version).
If I am reading the threads and site correctly, running a full scan in McAfee should detect and clean the Conficker C if it is on the PC right?
I do not "need" to also run "Stinger" also or do I?
Thank You paullotion
i'm not sure why but stinger can't work perfectly.. not like kkiller by kapersky that can kill conficker threat easily.
Somehow conficker gen c is imune, mcafee stinger & latest dat for conficker only work after we manualy unhide the registry.
Somehow when we call support i was told that in mcafee access scan doesn't have memory protection not like mcafee on demand.
