From my understanding this is a known issue and McAfee is working on a fix. I think there is a temporary workaround fix but I have not been told otherwise so maybe one of the other mods can chime in.
Selvan is a tech with McAfee and his avatar has a big red "M" so I would also suggest that he may chime in also but as it is the weekend we may not here from him till Monday.
Meanwhile can you post some details about your computer, operating system, ram, type of internet conmnection, and also run the MVT under Technical Support link at top of this page and post the results of MVT
Sorry about all of this but just trying to gather the facts in the hopes of finding a solution asap
Correct, it is under investigation. Meanwhile try the steps in THIS post (#3). Otherwise your best bet is to contact Technical Support. It's free by phone or online chat and linked under Useful Links at the top of this page.
Thank you Ex Brit and K3tg I did actually run the MVT it did fix a registry item but the error still appeared on boot up in the event Viewer and System.
My Operating system is Windows 7 Professional
Intel i7 3770k processor
Nvidia GTX 660TI graphics card
Internet connection is via ethernet cable to TP-Link router and adsl
I did have a look at the registry setting but I'm a little nervous on changing anything in registry it did say it was 2.
But as you say McAfee are aware of I am sure they will correct this in time. It doesn't seem to affect my PC or the running of the programme.
Well if that's OK then I would just wait until the fix happens. Not sure when that will be though.
I wouldn't worry too much about Event Viewer items unless there's a problem running anything.
