It's probably just labelling differences that you've seen but there are two products, one in Consumer that is called by variations of Total Protection depending on where you obtain it from, and one in Enterprise that used to be called Total Protection Service.
Consumer version: http://home.mcafee.com/store/total-protection
Enterprise version: http://www.mcafee.com/us/products/saas-endpoint-protection-suite.aspx
The latter requires different licensing agreements and has totally separate support.
Moved this to Consumer > General Discussion as I think it has more to do with that than where it was previously, in Enterprise.
There is no difference among Total protection and Total protection 2013. Howere there are two types of the security you can subscibe for. First one holds teh protection of your personal computer and the network. While the second one is enterprise which ususally can provide complete protection to number of computers or to the complete organiztion.
Mike that is what Ex_brit said also the year is changed each September as a marketing ploy but what is in the box does not and you always download the latest version when you install it. Currently 2014 but the download is version 13.6 now that is in throttled release to all subscription holders..
As this is an old thread I am locking it.
