Upgrade from old smart hosts to brand new megs. But exchange 2003 has queues building up from the Exchange internet mail connector's to the new megs. Causing e.

Mail delivery delays of an hour. Why o why. What is so wrong with these megs. Why does the connection take sometimes 30 to 60 secs to establish. Netmon never lies. Any help please.

If there is a delay getting the 220 banner then its likely you might have an invalid DNS name in your configuration causing a timeout.

          1. You might want to try disabling "Resolve permitted / blocked hostnames to IP addresses" in the "permitted and blocked senders" list under Email Configuration -> Receiving Email -> Permit and Deny Lists.
          2. You can also disable "Resolve the above names to IP addresses" under Email Configuration -> Receiving Email -> Anti-Relay Settings.
