check SQL DB account privilege
Moved to ePO for better support.
Sorry, I don't think I put enough information.
I log into ePO about once a day. When I do go to log in, the login page displays the messages:
"The License for ePolicy Orchestrator is invalid"
"A database error occurred while getting license information, make sure your database server is currently running"
I have found that when I restart the 'McAfee ePolicty Orchestrator 5.1.0 Application Server' service the errors clear and it works fine.
But I have to do this every day when I go to log in.
The database is mounted on the same server as ePO is installed on.
Try to use SQL authentication (instead of AD integrated). Make sure your SQL isn't using dynamic ports too.
Once you created your SQL account and made it dbowner of the ePO database, don't forget to change the settings in https://mcafeeposerver:8443/core/config
I have followed these steps (all check out) with my EPO 5.1 installation and the issue is NOT resolved. Restarting the McAfee services resolves the issue but the next day I have to do the same thing. Please have some one investigate this.
If you need a problem more formally investigated would you please open a case directly with McAfee support ?
That way troubleshooting can be performed in detail with a support rep. in real time.
Thanks for the information guys.
I ended up logging a call with McAfee about it and they advised installing the latest hotfix EPO510HF1b.
Installed that and all the problems were resolved.
