I moved this from VSE to Malware Discussion > Corporate User Assistance as possibly a better spot for support.
Trying to match McAfee and Microsoft malware definition entries is a headache at the best of times.
If "Ramdo" is the McAfee detection linked to in the previous post - which has the McAfee name of "RDN/Generic.tfr!dt!8CAFEC697E20" - then it will have been detected since DAT 7305.
However, the Microsoft Encyclopedia entry for "Trojan:Win32/Ramdo.A" states that McAfee detects it as "Redyms-FDJR!851716E07456", a name which I cannot find in the list of all detections with the prefix "Redyms".
This threat is also detected as:
- BackDoor.Finder.11 (Dr.Web)
- Win32/Kryptik.BSNW trojan (ESET)
- Redyms-FDJR!851716E07456 (McAfee)
So the question is not definitely answered.
The best place to check for these is in the list of McAfee Labs Security Advisories at
If you haven't already signed up to receive these when they're issued you probably should do so.
