    Foundstone API service fails to install

    rwitkowski

      Hi, I'm installing MVM 7.5 all on one laptop running Windows Server 2008 R2 and SQL 2008 R2. (All services on the same server) I get no error messages during install but when I try to login to the Web portal I get the following error message. "The connection to the McAfee Vulnerability Manager API Service could not be made." Upon reviewing server services I see all Foundstone ones except API. Have tried reinstalling everything twice but no help.  Foundstone Logs show the following;

          First install I had with MVMSetup75-R2.exe was fine.

          Subsequently, I can no longer install API service. Installer lists API server as getting installed OK.

            Moved to Vulnerability Manager (Foundstone) as a better spot for it - Moderator

              On another machine I had success installing it. I saved the relevant reg key (works on 64-bit OS), and hopes somebody can make use of it. The ImagePath and DependOnService hex keys seems to be unicode strings.

                I have very similar issue. Api service will not appear after MVM reinstallation for unknown reason. I have contacted McAfee support.

                  We had to reinstall whole OS. API service was installed successfully then.
